About the Junior Captain
The junior captain on a yacht possess all the necessary licenses and certifications for the position, but may only have limited experience as captain. This individual should possess knowledge of yacht management, safety and financial administration coupled with the drive and energy to convince a prospective employer that they are ready for the career step of their first command. Excellent communication, particularly with owners and guests, in addition to strong interpersonal and time management skills as well as the ability to motivate the crew are essential for success in this position. This role typically requires a minimum of three years of superyacht industry experience and some engineering knowledge/mechanical aptitude.
