While Hannah began life on a farm in New Zealand, once she discovered yachting she quickly took to life at sea. In working her way up from 30m to 60m boats, Hannah was able to travel the world and in the process, earn the Chief Stewardess position, a role requiring meticulous standards of excellence. She even took “home” the FLIBS Top Decorating Competition award in 2014 for her Masquerade Theme design.
Hannah’s crewed on both sail and motor yachts, so she has a nuanced understanding of what makes each setting unique and what type of crew member will flourish in each environment. For Luxury Yacht Group that means that Hannah takes expert care matching a candidate’s skills to the correct boat, which leads to happy owners and happy crew.
After 12 years of travel, Hannah decided it was time to put down some roots, and right away she thought of LuxYachts. Having worked with Lux previously as both a crew member and an employer, she was eager to blaze new trails for the best crew placement agency in the world, opening a new satellite office in Auckland in 2015. Along with joining the crew here at Lux, she’s also joined the ranks of the first-time homeowner, putting her DIY skills to work on her own behalf doing renovations, painting, and interior design for her new nest while she builds the business in this new corner of the world. Her only lament: “It’s just a pity we never had gardens onboard to help with my landscaping skills!”
