Rupert Connor is founder and president of Luxury Yacht Group. He is actively involved in every aspect of operations within the company including charter, yacht management, crew placement, and he is a licensed sales broker.  He is a successful business man who has offices both in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Antibes, France and is rapidly becoming one of the largest crew placement agencies in the world. 

Rupert moved to the United States in 1999 after a successful career navigating luxury yachts all over the world’s oceans.

He has navigational experience as a captain in the following areas –

Mediterannean Sea – ( Gibraltar, Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Greece, Turkey & Egypt)

North Atlantic Ocean – ( Azores, Portugal, United Kingdom)

Caribbean Sea – (Windward Islands, Leeward Islands, ABC’s, Venezuela, Panama, Honduras and Belize)

Pacific Ocean – (Society Islands, Marquesas, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Southern California)

Red Sea – ( Egypt, Israel, Eritrea & Djibouti)

He began Luxury Yacht Group in June 2000 and this was the beginning of a successful new land-based career.

Since its conception, Luxury Yacht Group has become a leading force in the luxury yacht service industry.  The company focuses in four main areas which are crew placement, charter, management and sales. They are widely recognized as a progressive company with a high standard for excellence.  Rupert maintains this high level of service by having a hands-on attitude, staying involved in every aspect of his business and remaining in touch with advances and changes within the yachting industry.

Rupert Connor is a renowned industry speaker who has lectured for such venues as FYBA charter shows, the opening address at Seatrade, the Triton Lecture Series and various other industry events. He has lectured on a wide range of topics such as yacht management, ISM (International Safety Management Code), ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code), the state of the superyacht industry, Crew Placement and charter contract issues.

The company has always been a leader in the use of technology and is currently expanding its video conferencing capabilities globally and developing new online tools that further support the operation of a luxury yacht.

Rupert is married to Amanda, who owns a successful crew uniform company also located in Fort Lauderdale.

In his spare time, he enjoys competing in triathlons, photography, and working with computers. He is married to Amanda, who runs and owns a successful embroidery business providing yachting uniforms.
